Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about polarized light therapy — safety, sessions, wavelengths, and how it fits alongside your medical care.

01

Is light therapy safe, and does it hurt?

Yes — polarized light therapy is non-invasive, drug-free, and painless. Most clients describe sessions as a gentle warmth with no downtime afterwards, and it's used as a complement to, not a replacement for, your existing medical care.

02

How many sessions will I need before I notice a difference?

It varies by condition and severity. Acute issues like sprains or minor wounds are often supported within a handful of sessions, while chronic conditions such as long-standing joint pain typically benefit from a structured course. Your practitioner will outline an expected plan at your first consultation.

03

Can light therapy replace my physiotherapy or medical treatment?

No. Light therapy is designed as a complementary approach alongside conventional care — not a substitute for it. We always encourage clients to keep their treating physician or physiotherapist informed, and we're happy to coordinate directly with your care team where useful.

04

Which wavelength will be used for my condition?

Different wavelengths penetrate to different depths and support different processes — shorter wavelengths work closer to the skin's surface (useful for wounds and scars), while longer wavelengths reach deeper into muscle and joint tissue. Your practitioner selects the appropriate wavelength and dose based on your specific injury or condition during your assessment.

05

Are there any conditions where light therapy isn't recommended?

Certain conditions — such as active cancers, pregnancy over the treatment area, photosensitivity, or specific medications — may mean light therapy isn't suitable. We complete a full health screening before your first session so we can advise you honestly on whether it's right for you.
